The UI Health Diabetes Center & Endocrinology Center is a leading clinical and research center in the city of Chicago. Our goal is to continue to be a leading institution for all diabetes care through innovative research, engaging community through education and outreach programs, and delivering multi-disciplinary care. Our center serves the most underserved populations of Chicago, which have the highest rates of diabetes and obesity (a true disparity in healthcare delivery). Financial support is needed for our outreach programs and to fund projects that untangle the mechanism behind diabetes, with a focus on the causes of disparities, environmental factors driving the epidemic of type 2 diabetes, and other related projects.
