Coach Paul Zavala has coached and recruited student-athletes that have achieved unparalleled levels of success, repeated UIC school record-breaking levels of success. This season both Daniel Chavez [‘26] and Luke Malone [‘25] recently set the top 2 times all time for Cross Country in the 8,000m. This past Track & Field season, the Sprint Medley Relay also set a new school record at the 2024 Drake Relays. UIC is quickly becoming a powerhouse in cross-country and track & field in Chicago, in the Midwest, and nationally.
